The women's golf team travels to Clarksville, Tennessee to compete in the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday. The Salukis are the returning champions from 2016. Departed Saluki, Kristie Yang, won in the individual honors.
Â
While the Salukis have had strong events to start off the season, head coach Alexis O'Brien said she is going into Mondays competition expecting the team to play the way they have this season.
Â
Nine teams in total will compete at the tournament, Austin Peay is the only team the Salukis have faced so far. The two teams met at the Cardinal Classic on Sept. 18 and 19.
Â
"I expect Austin Peay to really contend," O'Brien said. "It's their home course and they know it well. They have the Goodley twins from southern Illinois and they can put together some team scores."
Â
The Goodley's were two of four players to play in all 11 tournaments for APSU in the 2016-17 season.
Â
Taylor Goodley ended the 2016 APSU Intercollegiate in second place behind Yang, and Ashton ended tied for fifth with Saluki senior Alice Ho.
Â
Austin Peay State ended the 2016 intercollegiate in second place behind SIU.
Â
The F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate will start Monday at 8:30 a.m.Â
