Salukis announce 2018 schedule

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois football program announced its 2018 schedule today. The Salukis open the season on August 30 at Murray State.Â
Southern travels to Oxford, Miss., to face FBS opponent Ole Miss on Sept. 8 before the home opener against SEMO on Sept. 15. After not having a bye week last year, SIU has a bye week before conference play, which starts at home against South Dakota on Sept. 29. That MVFC-opening weekend will also be the University's Family Weekend.
Homecoming is set for Oct. 20 when Indiana State comes to Carbondale. The final two home games are Nov. 3 and Nov. 10 against Western Illinois and South Dakota State, respectively.Â
North Dakota State is back on the schedule after two years off, while Northern Iowa rotated off the schedule. The Salukis travel to Fargo, N.D., to face the Bison in the regular season finale on Nov. 17.
Season ticket renewals will be mailed at the beginning of February. To purchase season tickets, contact the SIU athletic ticket office at 877-SALUKIS.
