Salukis finish fourth at MVC Fall Preview

Southern Illinois finished fourth at the MVC Fall Preview at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton, Indiana. The team shot rounds of 325, 334, and 328 to finish with a 54-hole total of 987 (+123). Missouri State (969) won the tournament by 2-strokes over second-place Bradley (971) in the 9-team field.Â
For the second tournament in a row, Southern Illinois had three Salukis finish in the top-20. Junior Lili Klekner-Alt (+27) shot a 77 in the final round, the best round of the tournament for the Salukis, and finished 8th overall. Junior Erica Kerr and sophomore Emilyee McGiles tied for 10th at 31-strokes over par.
Sophomore Moyea Russell (+36) shot 88 in the final round to finish tied for 23rd place and Jackie Biggs (+44) finished the tournament tied for 37th overall. Freshman Grace Renfer (+51) competed as an individual and finished 48th overall.
Southern Illinois returns to Carbondale to prepare for the Charles Brain Intercollegiate at Evansville on October 22, the last tournament of the fall season.
