Men's Golf in 9th Place after Day One of Fighting Irish Classic

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Southern Illinois Men's Golf team finished the first and second first round in ninth place out of 15 teams at the Fighting Irish Classic. The team is currently even with par.

Just 12 strokes away from being in the top five of the tournament, the team is eager to get back out on the course today. Freshman Matthis Besard (-1) and senior Peyton Wilhoit (-1) are tied for 30^th with six other players. Senior Luke Gannon (E) is one spot behind them being tied for 38^th.

Round three will be today, October 8^th with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m. ET. Live stats will be available on Birdiefire.com.
