Jacob Marnin named Google Cloud Academic All-District

CARBONDALE, Ill. — For the second year in a row, Southern Illinois junior center Jacob Marnin was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District team, as selected by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).

In his fourth year at SIU, the Altoona, Iowa native is majoring in criminology & criminal justice and continues to maintain a 4.0 GPA. A three-year starter, he is the active leader in career starts (28) at Southern and has started nine of 10 games this season, missing one game due to injury. Marnin has helped pave the way for an offense that ranks No. 2 in the conference in total yardage per game (445.4) and No. 3 in rushing yardage (227.3). The Salukis are coming off a season-high 353 yards on the ground against South Dakota State.

The Saluki football program has had at least one Academic All-District pick for 11-straight years. Marnin advances to the national ballot where he is eligible for Academic All-American consideration.
