CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Southern Illinois Men's Golf team finished the first round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge in seventh place out of 16 teams.

Junior Peyton Wilhoit and freshman Vikar Jonasson are currently tied for 14^th out of 85. Both Wilhoit and Jonasson are one under par. Senior Luke Gannon is tied for 23^rd, sophomore Frankie Thomas is tied for 49^th, and freshman Matthis Besard is tied for 64^th. Wilhoit shot six birdies today while the team as a whole shot 21.

The team is excited to get back out on the course fore round two tomorrow, starting with tee times starting at 8:55 a.m. Round three will be with a shotgun start on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. Live stats are available at Golfstat.com.
