Who's playing: Ball State, Bowling Green, Bradley, Central Michigan, Cleveland State, Dayton, Evansville, Illinois State, Indiana State, Ohio, Purdue Fort Wayne, Southern Illinois, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, UIndy, Western Illinois, Western Michigan. Indiana will have individuals competing.
The Southern Illinois Women's Golf team travels to Yorktown, Indiana to compete in the Cardinal Classic. The players traveling are, sophomore Moyea Russell, Jackie Biggs, junior Erica Kerr, junior Lili Klekner-Alt and sophomore Emilyee McGiles.
The 16-team field will compete at The Players Club, a par-72 course that spans 6,204 yards.
"The players feel really comfortable going into this tournament," SIU head coach Danielle Kaufman said. "Emilyee, Moyea, and Erica all played last year at the same course so there is confidence in that."
Ball State has hosted the tournament every year but one since 2001-02. This is the fourth straight year the tournament will feature 54-holes. It was previously a 36-hole event. UIndy won the 2017-18 tournament and is back to defend its title.
The Salukis go into the tournament coming off an eighth place finish at the MSU Payne Stewart Memorial in Springfield, Missouri. Sophomore Moyea Rusell had a top-10 finish.
"We worked a little harder on course management this week," Kaufman said. "Tomorrow's focus is course management and club selection for each hole."
The teams tee off for round one on Monday at 8:30 a.m. Live stats will be available via GolfStat. The final round will start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
