Men’s Cross Country posts top Team GPA in the nation

SIU's men's XC team posted a 3.67 GPA- the highest of any men's team in NCAA D1.
The Southern Illinois University men's and women's cross country teams were recognized for their excellence in the classroom on Thursday, as both teams earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors for the second-straight season.
The Saluki men's team finished with a 3.67 GPA, which was the best for a men's team in the nation. The Saluki women weren't far behind, as they posted a 3.56 GPA. Southern's combined GPA of 3.615 was the seventh-best nationally.
Overall, there were 427 teams that earned All-Academic distinction. To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
The Saluki men's team finished with a 3.67 GPA, which was the best for a men's team in the nation. The Saluki women weren't far behind, as they posted a 3.56 GPA. Southern's combined GPA of 3.615 was the seventh-best nationally.
