Roberson claims MVC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honor

ST. LOUIS — Southern Illinois junior thrower Alexis Roberson was named the MVC Women's Field Athlete of the Week after her performance at the EIU Friday Night Special Saturday night.
Roberson was part of a small contingent of Salukis to compete at the last chance meet and won the weight throw for the fourth time this season with a toss of 66'-8.5" (20.33m). She will head into the MVC Indoor Championships with the second-best mark in the conference, and 17th-best nationally.
Roberson and the Salukis are back in action this weekend at the 2019 MVC Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Northern Iowa. The two-day championship meet gets underway on Friday, Feb. 22.
