Salukis in 19th at Desert Intercollegiate

PALM DESERT, Cali. – The Salukis finished the first round of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in 19^th place. The team is just over ten strokes away from being in the top ten of the 21-team tournament.

Freshman Matthis Besard (+3) leads the team with a score of 75. Besard is tied for 34^th place with 12 other players. Seniors Peyton Wilhoit (+7) and Luke Gannon (+7) are currently tied for 87^th place alongside seven other players with scores of 79.

SIU Men's Golf team is ready to get back out on the course again today for round two. Round two will begin today with tee times starting at 8 a.m. Markus Wilhelmsen is the first of the Salukis to tee off at 8:50 a.m. on hole ten. The rest of the team tees off following Wilhelmsen at hole ten. Live stats will be available via Golfstat.com.
