The Saluki women's golf team travels to Dade City, Florida to compete in the Spring Break Shootout hosted by Western Kentucky University. The Southern Illinois roster for the tournament includes sophomore Moyea Russell, junior Erica Kerr, sophomore Emilyee McGiles, graduate Jackie Biggs, junior Lili Klekner-Alt, and senior Sun Jung. The Salukis are coming off 2nd and 3rd place finishes to open the spring season.Â
The 15-team field will compete at the Lake Jovita Country Club, which features a South and North course. The South course was designed by US Open Champion Tom Lehman and golf course architect Kurt Sandness, spanning 220-acres with hilly terrain. The 263-acre North course has even greater elevation than the South and is contemporary in style.
There will be a shotgun start on Monday at 8:30 a.m. to begin the first round. The weather is forecast to be partly cloudy with a high of 86 ºF. The final round will begin on Tuesday. Live scoring will be available via BirdieFire.
