Women’s Basketball’s season-ending banquet set for April 12

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois women's basketball team will hold its end of the year banquet on Friday, April 12 in the East Lobby of the SIU Arena.
The doors open at 6:45 p.m. followed by dinner and a program that includes the presentation of postseason awards and reflections on the season from sixth-year SIU head coach Cindy Stein.
The Salukis finished the season with a 15-15 overall record. Southern placed two on All-MVC teams, including Nicole Martin's second-straight appearance on the All-MVC First Team. Meanwhile, Abby Brockmeyer and Silvey were named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team, while Martin earned MVC Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention honors. SIU's three scholar-athlete honorees were tied with Northern Iowa and Drake for the most of any Valley school and Southern has had at least one MVC Scholar-Athlete honoree in each of head coach Cindy Stein's six seasons as head coach.
Tickets are on sale now and are $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 years of age and under. Tickets can be purchased over the phone by calling Addie Ebomwonyi at 512-784-4755, or by filling out the attached banquet flier and mailing it, along with a check made payable to SIU Women's Basketball, to: SIU Women's Basketball C/O Addie Ebomwonyi, Mailcode 6620, 185 Boydston Center Carbondale, IL 62901
