The Salukis host the 25th annual Saluki Invitational at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale, Ill. on March 24-25. The 36-hole invite is the only home tournament for the Salukis as Southern Illinois prepares for the Missouri Valley Championship in April.Â
The Salukis finished runner-up in 2017 and look for their 10th win at the Saluki Invitational since 1995. Southern Illinois is currently 1st overall in MVC Conference rankings.
The Salukis lineup includes 2017 individual tournament champion, sophomore Moyea Russell. Graduate Jackie Biggs, sophomore Emilyee McGiles, junior Erica Kerr, and junior Lili Klekner-Alt complete the lineup for Southern Illinois.Â
Senior Sun Jung, sophomore Rosemarie Bundy, and freshman Grace Renfer will be competing as individuals. Saluki Women's Basketball sophomore Abby Brockmeyer will also make her debut for Saluki Women's Golf competing as an individual.
The 14-team field will compete at Hickory Ridge Golf Course, a par-72 course spanning 6,091 yards for tournament play. There will be a shotgun start on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. (CT) to begin the first round. The weather is forecast for scattered showers with a high of 63 °F. The final round will begin on Monday at 9:00 a.m. (CT). Live scoring will be available via GolfStat.
