Men's Golf tied for 4th Place at Florida Atlantic

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Salukis moved up the leader board and are now tied for fourth place with Connecticut after round two of the FAU Spring Championship.

"We've done a great job of having two complete rounds of golf," said SIU head coach Justin Fetcho. "Another huge bonus for us is out of six guys, we've only had one double or worse throughout the entire day. That shows me that we're in control of our game. We're fighting. We're grinding. We're doing some good things out there."

All of the Salukis have been able to keep their rounds at 75 strokes or under. If the team keeps up the phenomenal work for round three tomorrow, they will be in the position to have their best tournament finish so far this spring.

"I think there's been a lot of good individual things going on throughout the tournament. I'm looking to get all six guys under par tomorrow. I know that's a lofty goal but I know that we're talented enough to make that happen," said Fetcho.

Freshman Matthis Besard (-4) is tied for seventh place with a round two score of 68. Senior Peyton Wilhoit (-2) is tied for 12^th places with a round two score of 70. Senior Luke Gannon (+2) and Junior Frankie Thomas (+2) are both tied for 32^nd place with round two scores of 73. Senior Hunter York (+3) is tied for 41^st place with a round two score of 73. Freshman Vikar Jonasson (+5) is tied for 54^th place as an individual with a round two score of 74.

The final round of the FAU Spring Championship will begin with tee times starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday, March 30^th. The first Saluki tee time is at 8:50 a.m. Live stats will be available via Golfstat.com.
