Men's Golf team invites public to NCAA Selection Show Watch Party on Wednesday

CARBONDALE — Saluki fans are invited to join the Southern Illinois men's golf team at an NCAA Selection Show Watch Party on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Copper Dragon in Carbondale. The selection show, which airs on the Golf Channel, begins at 8 p.m.

SIU captured its second Missouri Valley Conference men's golf championship in the last four years and just the second in school history, when it rallied to beat pre-tournament favorite Illinois State by 10 strokes last week. With the win, SIU claimed the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals, May 13-15.

The Golf Channel's "Golf Central" show will announce the 81 teams and 45 individuals selected to compete in the six NCAA Men's Regional Championships (13 teams and 10 individuals at three regionals and 14 teams and five individuals at three regionals). Thirty teams and six individuals will advance from regional sites to the national championships.
