Jackie Biggs Earns MVC Good Neighbor Award

Southern Illinois women's golf Jackie Biggs was selected as an honoree of the the State Farm Good Neighbor Award for the 2018-19 spring season by Missouri Valley Conference Commissioner Doug Elgin.
Biggs is a graduate student with a 4.00 cumulative grade point average. Biggs reads to children at elementary schools and volunteers for several local organizations including: Special Olympics, St. Francis CARE Animal Shelter, Boys & Girls Club of Carbondale, and the Carbondale Library. She has logged over 30 hours of community service this semester and is also a member of Southern Illinois Student-Athlete Services, a group that promotes effective communication between administration and student-athletes. She earned the 2018 MVC President's Council Academic Award, 2018 MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award, and has been named to the Honor Roll all semesters.Â
The MVC created the award to honor the achievements of ten exceptional student-athletes three times annually (fall, winter, spring). To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be in good academic standing, demonstrate good citizenship & sportsmanship, and must participate in a sport during the season of recognition.
