Cross Country to Compete at Illinois State Invite

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The men and women's cross country teams will travel to Normal, Ill. to take part in the seventh annual Illinois State University Invite on Friday, Sept. 13.

The Illinois State men won last year's invite with their first five finishers placing in the top-20. On the women's side, Missouri took first finish while Loyola finished second.
The women's 5k is slated to begin at 5 p.m. followed by the men's 8k at 5:45 p.m. The races will be held at Weibring Golf Course in Normal, Illinois. Live stats of Friday's meet will be kept and can be found here.
The Salukis opened up their 2019 cross country season at the Saluki Invite on Aug. 30. The men's side captured first-place finish behind sophomore Reid Parsons, who took first with a time of 16:03.24. On the women's side, the Salukis finished second behind SEMO, with senior Megan Krolak taking second with a time of 18:27.13.
After the conclusion of Friday's meet, the Salukis will remain idle over next weekend before gearing up for the Mizzou XC Challenge on Sept. 27, hosted by the University of Missouri.
