Alexis Roberson Named MVC Field Athlete of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Senior thrower Alexis Roberson has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Jim Green Invitational, the conference announced Tuesday.
Roberson threw for a personal-best 21.22 meters (69'7.5") on her first attempt of the weight throw to set the mark, which now stands first in the MVC and fifth overall in the NCAA. She topped her nearest competition by over a foot, in addition to placing her mark seventh in school history for the event.
The Salukis will return to action on Jan. 24-25 to host the Don DeNoon Invite at the SIU Recreation Center. The meet will begin on Friday with the multis at 10 a.m., with the field events to follow at 3:15 p.m.
