Salukis Announce 2020 Outdoor Track and Field Schedule

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Southern Illinois University track and field program announced its upcoming 2020 outdoor scheduled today. The Salukis will kick off the outdoor campaign with the annual Bill Cornell Spring Classic on Mar. 20 – 21.
The schedule features seven meets leading up to the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships, which will be held in Des Moines, Iowa beginning on May 15.
Following the season-opening Bill Cornell Spring Classic, the men and women will head down to San Marcos, Texas the following week to take part in the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Texas State University on March 27-28.
The month of April signals busy times for the Salukis, as the program will participate in four meets throughout the month. The Salukis get the month started on April 9-11 at the Tennessee Relays, hosted by the University of Tennessee, before the heading on over to Lawrence, Kansas to take part in the Kansas Relays the following weekend.
A trip to Louisville, Kentucky to take part in the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Open, hosted by the University of Louisville, is in store for select student-athletes on April 24-25, while others head to Columbus, Ohio to participate in the Jesse Owens Classic, hosted by Ohio State University, the same weekend.
The beginning of May signifies the last chance to prepare for the MVC Championships, as the program will take a trip to Bloomington, Indiana to take part in the Billy Hayes Invitational May 1-2. Following the MVC Championships, the Salukis will send student-athletes back to Lawrence, Kansas to compete in the NCAA Preliminaries on May 29-30 for a chance at a trip to the NCAA National Championships.
The 2020 NCAA Outdoor National Championships will take place in Austin, Texas on June 10-13.
