CARBONDALE, Ill. — The Southern Illinois football team opened training camp on Friday morning at Saluki Stadium. The Salukis open their season four weeks from tomorrow with a non-conference game at Kansas on Aug. 29.

Coaches and support staff wore face coverings during practice and player helmets were outfitted with protective face shields as an added precaution against the Covid-19 virus.
