Women’s Golf in Ninth at Diane Daugherty Invite

KIRKWOOD, Mo. — Southern Illinois women's golf is in ninth place after carding 632 (+64) in Monday's opening round of the Diane Daugherty Invite at Greenbriar Hills Country Club. Arkansas State leads the 16-team field with a first day score of 605 (+37).
Senior Moyea Russell and fifth-year Erica Kerr are both tied for 25th place, leading the Salukis with a score of 157 (+15). Senior Emilyee McGiles shot 161 (+19) on the day and is tied for 39th place with freshman teammate Janie Samattiyadeekul (+19), who picked up four birdies in the opening round. Sophomore Ayanna Habeel carded 152 (+20) and is tied for 46th place. Senior Rosemarie Bundy is competing as an individual, with four birdies on the day, to finish at 162 (+20).
The Salukis tee off for the final round of 18-holes on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. CT, shotgun start. Weather is forecast to be mostly sunny with highs in the low 70s and a slight wind from the south. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.
