CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Southern Illinois University men's golf program is headed to West Lafayette, Ind., to take part in the 17^th annual Purdue Boilermaker Invitational. The two-day tourney is scheduled for April 10-11 at the 7,405-yard, par-72 Kampen Course.

The tournament is scheduled to get underway Saturday at a tee time of 7 a.m. off of No. 1 and No. 10, playing foursomes.

The Salukis will be facing a field of 16 teams, three of which fall in the Golfstat top-50 rankings: Illinois (6), Ohio State (38) and Kent State (47). The Salukis will also be facing off against a fellow Missouri Valley Conference foe in Illinois State.

The Salukis will send a five-man lineup consisting of Matthis Besard, Tom Cleaton, Birgir Magnusson, Justin Wingerter and Josh Mackin to the tournament. The group is coming off of a total score of 854 at the Murray State Invitational last weekend, their best 54-hole score of the season.

Following the conclusion of the Purdue Boilermaker Invitational, the Salukis have two weeks off of competition before heading to Flossmoor, Ill., to take part in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship son April 25-27.
