Women’s Golf Finish 10th at Redbird Invitational

The Southern Illinois women's golf team opened the 2021-22 season in Normal, Illinois at the Redbird Invitational, hosted by Illinois State. The Salukis carded 205, 310, and 298 at the Weibring Golf Club to finish with a final total of 913 (+49) to take 10th place. EKU led the 16-team field in commanding fashion, finishing 3 under-par (861) over runner-up IUPUI (+6).
SIU carded 12 birdies and hit 58 pars over the two-days. Junior Megan Breslin finished tied for 25th (+10). Fifth-year Moyea Russell tied for 39th at 12-over. Freshman Kylee Vaughan shot 230 (+4) in her collegiate debut to finish tied for 48th overall. Junior Ayanna Habeel fired 232 (+16) to tie for 55th and sophomore Janie Samattiyadeekul tied for 62nd place (+18).

The Salukis return to Carbondale, Illinois to prepare for the Hoover Invite, hosted by University of Alabama at Birmingham, on September 20, 2021 at Hoover Country Club in Birmingham, Alabama.
