Track & Field Travels to Bloomington for Indiana Relays

CARBONDALE. Ill. - The Southern Illinois Track and Field programs go on the road to Bloomington this weekend for the Indiana Relays.
Last time out, the Salukis tallied five first place finishes at the Notre Dame Invitational. They look to build on this momentum and carry it forward throughout the rest of the indoor season.Â
"These next few weeks will be important to the development of the team and building a championship roster," Director of Track & Field and Cross Country, Richard Jones, said. "This weekend is a larger two day competitive meet and we are prepared to compete well."
The meet will be hosted by Indiana inside Gladstein Fieldhouse. Along with Indiana and Southern Illinois, athletes from Ohio State, Miami (OH), St. Louis, Ohio, Missouri, Southeast Missouri, Wisconsin, New Orleans, Loyola-Chicago, Ball State, Butler, Bradley, Michigan State, Purdue, and Wilmington (OH) will be competing.Â
Friday's events will start at 4:00 p.m. CTÂ with the Women's weight throw and Women's 60m Hurdle Prelims. The final event of Friday is the Men's 200m Dash which will take place at 7:50 p.m. CT. The events will pick back up on Saturday at 10:15 a.m. CTÂ with the Women's Triple Jump. The final event of the meet, the Men's 4X400m Relay will start at 2:35 p.m. CT.
