
Salukis Head to MVC Championship

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Salukis head to the Missouri Valley Conference Championship hosted by Belmont in Nashville, Tenn. on Friday Oct. 27.
The women's race will begin at 10 a.m. and the men's will follow at 11 a.m. The race will be at Percy Warner Park.
"The team is excited to make a statement this weekend. They're fired up and ready to compete. The progress they've shown this season will culminate on Friday." head coach Brian Biekert.
The Salukis began their season at the Belmont Opener where Rachel Anderson finished first overall and led the women's team in their third place finish. The men's team finished fourth and was led by Ethan Senti. At their last meet, the Bradley Pink Classic, the women's finished tenth and the men's finished eighteenth.
Heading into the championship the Missouri Valley Conference Pre-Championship Coaches Poll has the women's team finishing fifth and the men's team finishing sixth. The Belmont women's team and the Drake men's team are pre-championship favorites heading into Friday.
