STILLWATER, OK. – The Salukis finished at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Friday in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The men's team had their highest placing finish in the regional since 2014, finishing in eighteenth.
Rachel Anderson also headlines the NCAA Midwest Regional for the Salukis, her twenty-first place finish in the women's 6K was the highest individual placing for the Salukis at the regional since 2013. Anderson's finishing time was 21:11.0. The women's team finished in twenty-second place.
"It was a nice way to finish Rachel Anderson's cross country career. I'm very proud of how far she has come. But we both agree there's still unfinished business in the upcoming track seasons." head coach Brian Biekert said.
On the men's side Dawson Smith was the highest placing Saluki, finishing in twenty-eighth place in the men's 10K with a time of 31:24.1. Ethan Senti finished in thirty-second place with a time of 31:27.6.
"For some of the guys this was their best race of the season. Combined with the team result, it was a step in the right direction and something we will look to build upon. Our standards need to continue to grow." said Biekert.
