
Celia Pulido Breaks Her Own Record as Day Two at Purdue Wraps

West Lafayette, In. -- Day two of Purdue Invitational wrapped for the Salukis with Celia Pulido breaking the school's 100-yard backstroke record twice, the first time being during the preliminary round with a time of 51.99 and then breaking that record later Friday evening with a time of 51.82.
The events competed today include the 400-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, and 100-yard backstroke.
Prelims
The Salukis had three individual top three finishes. The first by Brooklyn Anderson in the women's 400 IM. Anderson came in second with a time of 4:21.40. Olivia Herron finished second in the women's 100 breaststroke with a time 1:01.64. Celia Pulido finished first with the school record breaking 51.99 in the women's 100 backstroke.
Finals
Celia Pulido highlighted the finals sessions of day two by breaking her own record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 51.82, her time giving her the first place finish. Olivia Herron had a top three finish in the women's 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.99 putting her in third place.
The Purdue Invitational continues tomorrow for the final day with prelims beginning at 10:30 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m..
