SIU's sweep over Belmont yesterday marked the program's first MVC Tournament victory since 2013, snapping a five-match postseason losing streak.Â
Nataly Garcia led the Salukis with 12 kills while also notching six digs as she was the sole Saluki to tally double-digit kills. Tatum Tornatta finished with eight while hitting .333.
The Salukis nearly won the second set but the Panthers comeback was too much to overcome after a pair of reviewed calls resulting in a big momentum swing that SIU was never able to bounce back from.Â
