Men's Golf in 13th After First Day of Bayou City Collegiate Classic

The Southern Illinois men's golf team is in 13th place after carding 588 (+12) on the first day of the Bayou City Collegiate Classic at the Westwood Golf Club in Houston, Texas. Sam Houston leads the 16-team field with a score of 558 (-18) after 36 holes of play.
Braden Hoisington picked up five birdies on the day and currently leads SIU with a score of 145 (+1), tied for 30th. Carsen Silliman is tied for 43rd with a score of 147 (+3). Tom Cleaton sits in 57th with a two-round total of 149 (+5). Andrew Thornton fired an eagle on Hole 6 in the second round to finish the day at 150 (+6), tied for 58th. Hugo Archer shot 154 (+10) and is tied for 79th.
The final round of 18 holes tees off on Tuesday, with tee times off Hole 1 and Hole 10 starting at 7:30 a.m. CT. Southern Illinois will start on Hole 10 with a tee time of 8:24 a.m. CT.
