Salukis Drop Game Two Against The Purple Aces

The Salukis got out to an early 1-0 lead in the top half of the first inning on an RBI-single from Rylie Hamilton to score Elizabeth Warwick. The lead wouldn't last long however as the Aces scored a pair of runs in the bottom half of the first on a two-run double. Evansville added to its lead in the third with another run to make it a 3-1 game after the third inning.Â
After Chloe Scroggins scored on catcher's obstruction during a double steal to make it a 3-2 game in the fourth, Tori Schullian knocked in the game-tying run in the fifth inning on a liner to left field to score Kerrigan Gamm.Â
As the game continued to see momentum swings, the Aces came back in the bottom half of the fifth to regain the lead 4-3 on Willsey's fourth RBI of the day.
Elliott Stinson made the start for the Salukis and was replaced by Hannah Hockerman in the second after giving up a pair of runs on just one hit. Hockerman would go on to throw the next three innings before getting replaced by Eberle in the fifth with a pair of runners aboard.Â
The Salukis will look to bounce back in the series finale Sunday afternoon with first pitch set for 12 PM.Â
