NORMAL, Ill. – Both the men's and women's cross country teams placed fifth at the Redbird Invitational on Friday.

Dawson Smith placed sixth overall for the men's 8K with a finishing time of 24:52.0 and freshman Elli Hall finished ninth for the women's 6K with a finishing time of 22:19.2.
