Preview | Salukis to run at Bradley Pink Classic

CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Southern Illinois University men's and women's cross-country programs will compete at the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday, Oct. 18, at Newman Golf Course in Peoria, Ill. The men's 8K race will occur at 3:00 p.m. and the women will compete in a 6K race at 3:45 p.m.
The men's team consists of five runners:
Freshmen: Ben Chance, Will Foltz, and Ben Morgan
Junior: Westen Jokerst
Graduate Student: Uriah Guthrie
The women's team consists of eight runners:
Freshmen: Kyla Engel, Riley Linville
Sophomore: Brodie Denny and Hannah Meiser
Junior: Audrey Boles
Senior: Brianna Nieset
Graduate Student: Britany Zeimer
Zeimer will make her racing debut for the Salukis this season. She joins Hannah Eastman as a medical student and is on limited availability for the season. Both runners suit up next week for the MVC Championship.
The Salukis will look to build momentum in Peoria before they head to Cedar Falls, Iowa, for the MVC Championship on Nov. 1. Last competing in the Mizzou Gans Creek Classic, the team fought hard in a highly competitive race despite a tough finish. Junior Weston Jokerst was the men's top performer, who finished at 25:18.4 in an 8K race. The women's top performer was sophomore Hannah Meiser, who finished at 22:12.3 in a 6K race.
