ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Southern Illinois University's Rachel Anderson was named the Missouri Valley Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Thursday. She joins Iaunia Pointer as the other female Saluki to earn the honor this indoor season.
Anderson reset her previous record in the 3000-meter by nearly 17 seconds. She currently hold the record in the 5000-meter run as well and is one of three Salukis (Pointer, Davis) to hold multiple school records in indoor events.
Anderson and the Salukis will head to Louisville to take part in the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic on Friday.
