Carbondale, Ill. - Southern Illinois is back on the road for a midweek matchup at UT Martin on Tuesday, March 26 scheduled for a 3 PM start. The Salukis head to Martin with a 16-game win streak as they look to take down another non-conference opponent after having played eight Valley games over the last two weeks.

The Salukis and Skyhawks have met 22 times prior as SIU leads the series16-6, most recently a season ago as UT Martin made the trip to Carbondale for the Saluki Invitational. After going to extra innings, the Dawgs won 7-6 in eight innings after Jackie Lis walked it off with a two-run double.Â

UT Martin enters the matchup at 16-13 (4-5 OVC) and 8-2 while playing at home. The Skyhawks have split against MVC opponents this season, beating Murray State 8-1 and losing to Indiana State 10-1 in five innings.Â

The Salukis are coming off another Valley sweep after a road trip to Chicago where they gave up just two earned runs through three games. With a 1.64 ERA, the Salukis currently have the 10th-best earned run average in the nation. All three qualified pitchers (min. 10 innings) currently have an ERA below 3.00 with Maddia Groff (0.44) currently ranking second in the country.Â
