WATERLOO, Ill. - Southern Illinois women's golf wrapped up its season with a 10th-place finish at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships Monday.
The Salukis finished tenth with a score of 929 (+65) as a team, finishing 40 strokes behind tournament champion Illinois State.
Head Coach Cindy Bodmer was complimentary of the team's effort in rounds two and three.
"We wanted to move up [Monday] but couldn't get putts to drop like [Sunday]," she said. "Proud of the team with 3 freshmen and one sophomore returning who gained valuable tournament experience."
Kayla Sayyalinh tied for 17th was the lone Saluki to shoot under 80 in all three rounds; she tied her season-low round of 73 in round two.Â
"Kayla played the way we knew she could and I look forward to watching her grow as a sophomore next year," Bodmer said.
Senior leader Janie Samattiyadeekul tied for 30th after shooting 232 (+16), which included a score of even par in round three.
Other individual scores:
Santos shot an 86 in round one, then Overstreet took over in rounds two and three.

Bodmer has coached her final tournament after announcing her retirement in January 2024.

"Excited for the future of our team, we have had numerous lineups this year and this team represented SIU so well," Bodmer said.
