CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Southern Illinois Track and Field completed the Fighting Illini Challenge at the UI Armory on Saturday.
TRACK EVENTS
Brianna Nieset finished second in the one-mile race at 5:13.86 seconds.
Up next, Finja Lorsbach dominated the women's 60-meter hurdles, finishing in first place with a personal best time of 9.08. Kasha Nielly was right behind her with a time of 9.18 seconds.
Jumps coach Jake Brydson gave his thoughts on Finja's big win.
"Finja is continuing to put together better parts of the race," Brydson said. "Hurdles 3-5 were really solid today, I hope she builds on this and the next race goes even better."
Christian Coleman continued his strong season in the men's 60-meter hurdles, beating his time in the prelims by .08 seconds, setting a new personal best time of 8.01 seconds.
FIELD EVENTS
Makayla Winters finished third place in the women's triple jump event, with her personal best jump of 10.92 meters (35-10 feet).
Adrian Przestrzelski finished fourth place in the men's triple jump event, with his personal best jump of 14.45 meters (47-05.00 feet).

The Salukis will have some time before the next meet, competing in the Missouri Invite on Friday, Feb. 7 in Columbia, Mo.
