Shaneyfelt named MVC Defensive Player of the Week

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Jillian Shaneyfelt of Southern Illinois Women's Volleyball was named the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
A native of Pinckneyville, Ill., Shaneyfelt had a career-high 28 digs against Bradley on Friday, and followed that up with 17 digs at Illinois State.
Shaneyfelt and the Salukis went 2-1 over the last week, including a thrilling reverse sweep over Bradley and a 3-0 victory over Illinois State on Saturday night.
She joins teammate Cecilia Bulmahn (2023) as the other active Saluki to earn the honor.
Southern Illinois will continue Valley play with a trip to UIC on Friday.
