CARBONDALE, Ill. – Over a week after their season-opening win over Lewis, Southern Illinois women's basketball (1-0, 0-0) now hits the road for their first away game of the year. On Saturday, they travel to Indiana to play Purdue Fort Wayne (1-2, 0-0).

SIU opened the 2025-26 season on November 4 with a 69-53 win over Division II Lewis where Alayna Kraus had an impressive debut for SIU. The Oral Roberts transfer dropped a team-high 16 points while shooting 55% from the field. Kraus had plenty of help, as three other Salukis hit double-digit points, including Karris Allen (14), Jeniah Thompson (12), and Kayla Cooper (12). Southern's defense was on point as well, compiling 12 steals, three blocks, and 17 total forced turnovers. The Salukis also held Lewis to 2-17 from beyond the arc.
