
Salukis look to right the ship on road trip to Bradley

CARBONDALE, Ill. — Southern Illinois' Men's Basketball will look to head into the holiday on a positive note as it travels to Peoria to take on Bradley.
The Salukis (6-6, 0-1 MVC) take on the Braves (8-4, 1-0 MVC) at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21, in Carver Arena in Peoria, Ill.

Scouting the Braves
The Braves enter the night on a five-game winning streak, last defeating Indiana State in a wild 108-99 triple-overtime affair.
Highlighting the Braves' non-conference slate was a 64-60 over high-major Washington State in Peoria.
Jaquan "Bully" Johnson has been a force early, averaging 18.4 points per game, good for second in the MVC. The sophomore had a career-high 33 points in a win against Central Michigan on Nov. 8. They average 78.9 points per game as a team, 151st nationally and sixth in The Valley.
Defensively, the Braves allow 69.6 points per game, tied for 97th in the NCAA and fifth in The Valley.
Bradley ranks No. 123 in the latest NET ratings and No. 120 in KenPom.
The Dawgs
Eight Salukis average more than 17 minutes per game. Quel'Ron House leads the team with 15.1 points per game. Seven others average more than seven points, including Drew Steffe (10.0), Rolyns Aligbe (8.9), Davion Sykes (8.7), Jalen Haynes (7.9), Prince Aligbe (7.8), Damien Mayo (7.8) and Isaiah Stafford (7.7).
Sophomore Max Pikaar logged a season-high 25 minutes in 83-54 win over UT Martin on Dec. 10.

Southern is shooting 49.1 percent from the field, which is 49th in the nation. They do most of their work inside the arc, making only 4.8 3-pointers per game, which is bottom 10 in the country.
SIU has been good on the boards, holding a +58 rebounding margin on the season. They are in the top 68 overall, averaging 39.7 rebounds per game. The Dawgs split up the work pretty evenly, with Rolyns Aligbe leading the way with 6.5 boards per game. Aligbe notched a double-double in the loss at Richmond on Dec. 13.
True freshman Jalen Haynes has seen his minutes spike recently playing more than 20 minutes in six of the last seven games. He's scored 6, 10, 10, 10, 12, and 12 points in those contests, respectively.
SIU landed at No. 133 in the most recent NET ratings, sixth in the MVC.
Last Time Out
SIU lost its conference opener to Illinois State, 75-68. Quel'Ron House led SIU with 22 points.
