Preview | Men's Golf to compete in final tournament before the MVC Championship

CARBONDALE, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University men's golf team competes at the Hawkeye Invitational on Sunday, April 13. SIU will play 36 holes Sunday and 18 Monday. This is the Salukis' final competition before the Missouri Valley Conference.Â
The Salukis will send a team of five with one individual golfer: Anthony De Schutter, Oliver Ulrich, Carsen Silliman, Leon Heitz, Frank Bellino, and (Ind.) Cy Norman.

Southern will face off against 12 opposing teams including Iowa (#96), the invitational's host, Kansas (#50), Northern Illinois, Little Rock (#40), UMKC, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Minnesota, Wichita State, as well as get an early look at Valley foes Missouri State, Drake, and Illinois State.
The Hawkeye Invitational is being held at Finkbine Golf Course, spanning 7,280 yards and is a par-72 event. Finkbine was designed by Robert Bruce, and the course has played host to major tournaments such as the PGA Amana VIP Pro-Am, the Ben Hogan Tour, and Big 10 Championships.

The Salukis were slated to compete in the Hoosier Collegiate on April 5 but was unable to compete due to the tournament being canceled due to weather. They will look to get back on track on Saturday before later heading to Des Moines, Iowa to compete in the MVC Championship.
