Recap | Men's Golf completes Hawkeye Invitational, shifts focus to MVC Championship

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Southern Illinois Men's Golf team wrapped up the Hawkeye Invitational on Monday, finishing 11th out of 13 teams. The Salukis finished with a score of 903 (+39), with Kansas winning the tournament at 837 (-27).
"Tough week for us," said Head Coach Justin Fetcho. "Conditions were tough, and we didn't handle it well. We didn't have the resiliency or toughness needed to handle the adversity of the golf course and the conditions this week. I told the team that starts at the top and I have to do a better job of accountability and discipline every day so that we are ready for days like this."
Anthony De Schutter had another solid week of golf, tying for 13th with a score of 217 (+1). De Schutter had a strong start on day one, shooting a 70 (-2) in the first round, and a 71 (-1) in round two. His performance at the Hawkeye Invitational brings his stoke average to 71.33 on the season.

"We have to find a way to dig deep and get ready for next week," Fetcho said. "We have a lot of work to do in a short amount of time."
