CARBONDALE, Ill. - Southern Illinois Women's Volleyball fell in three sets to Arkansas at the Razorback Invitational Thursday in Fayetteville.
Arkansas led virtually end-to-end in this matchup, never trailing in the first and third sets.
Jillian Shaneyfelt was on point defensively, showing great effort with 15 digs in the three sets. Middles Larissa Seger and Eva Krakowski each notched a pair of kills early in set two, giving SIU its only lead of the night.
Despite the less-than-desirable result, Head Coach Brittany Harry still had some kernels of positivity to note.
"I thought once our group settled in and relaxed a little, we made some really nice plays," Harry said. "Jill had some great digs in the back row, and Eva and Larissa were really efficient in the middle for us."
Cecilia Bulmahn led the way with seven kills, while freshman Meghan Anderson had 13 assists. Ella Swansiger and Krakowski tied with two blocks each.
