De Schutter looks to make more history, leads Southern to Mark Simpson Invitational

CARBONDALE, Ill. - Anthony De Schutter will look to accomplish a historical feat as he leads Southern Illinois to the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational Monday, Sept. 29, in Erie, Colo. If De Schutter wins this tournament, he will become the only Saluki in program history to win three consecutive tournaments.
As a team, Southern Illinois is coming off the Badger Invitational, where they finished second.
In addition to De Schutter's victory, Michael Mikus (12th), Ben Keil (19th), and Jaeseung Na (24th) also tallied top 25 finishes.
Here is Southern's starting lineup:
Cy Norman and Oliver Ulrich will also make the trip.
The Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational will be held at the Colorado National Golf Course. This course spans 7,787 yards and is a par-72 event.
Monday's forecast calls for partly cloudy skies, 77 degrees and winds five to 10 miles per hour. Tuesday will see partly cloudy skies with a high of 81 degrees and winds of five mph.
