Outdoor: Finished 18th in the shot put at the 2017 USATF Outdoor Championships…Qualified for and competed at the NCAA West Prelims, but did not record a legal mark…Placed fifth in the shot put at the 2017 MVC Outdoor Championships…Earned MVC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after he broke a three year old meet record in the shot put at the Lenny Lyles Invitational (4/29) with a heave of 63’-2.25m (19.26m)…Won the shot put at the Gibson Invitational to earn MVC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week (4/18)…Recorded the second-best throw in school history at the Tennessee Relays (4/8) with a toss of 64’-5.75” (19.65m)…Competed at seven outdoor meets.
Indoor: Finished fourth in the shot put at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships to earn All-America first team…Took fourth with a mark of 64’-10.50” (19.77m), which was the best finish by a Saluki shot putter at the indoor national meet since John Marks in 1979…Won his first MVC title in the shot with a MVC Championship meet record heave of 64’-10.5” (19.77m)…Broke Saluki alum John Smith’s 34-year old MVC Championship meet record…Broke Curtis Jensen’s 2014 MVC shot put record, as well as the school record, with a lifetime-best throw of 67’-2” (20.47m) at the Music City Challenge (2/10)…Including his win at MVCs, won the shot put five times, with wins at the Music City Challenge (2/10), Indiana Relays (1/27), Don DeNoon Invitational (2/3) and the Illini Classic (1/14)…Competed at eight indoor meets.
Lincoln College
Won the 2016 NJCAA Outdoor National Champion in the shot put with a toss of 17.90m (58’-08.75’’), winning by more than six inches... Earned All-America honors with a fourth place showing in the shot at the 2015 NJCAA Outdoor National Championships...Named the USTFCCCA Atlantic Division Male Field Athlete of the Year.
