PRIOR TO SIU

Cameron arrives in Carbondale from Oscar A. Carlson High School in Brownstown, Mich., where he was a nine-time state qualifier. Despite having his senior season cut short due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Cameron notched four top-10 finishes at the state meet, which included a fifth-place finish in the 400 free relay and a sixth place showing in the 500 free in 2019. The distance freestyler advanced to the state meet in the 500 free in each of his three seasons and tallied back-to-back top-10 finishes in the event in 2018 and 2019.
