McDowell To Miss Season Opener at Nebraska

Carbondale, Ill. - Southern Illinois University junior guard Molly McDowell will miss Friday's season opener at Nebraska after she suffered a first degree concussion in the team's exhibition game last weekend.

With a minute left in Sunday's 89-84 win over Goldstar, McDowell fell, hit her head on the floor and was forced to leave the game. After seeing the team's physician following the game, it was determined that McDowell had sustained a mild concussion, and may return for Monday's home opener against Saint Louis.
