Swimming & Diving Team Finishes Third At Northwestern Invite

CHICAGO, Ill. - The Southern Illinois University women's swimming and diving team finished third at the Northwestern Invite. The women's team scored 477 points to secure third behind #31 Purdue (1,170) and #21 Northwestern (1,078) and just ahead of the Louisville women's team (226).
The women's team had senior Brooke Radostits as their top finisher. She placed third in the 100 backstroke (57.81) and 200 backstroke (2:04.39). Sophomore Leane Pienaar placed fourth in the 1,650 freestyle (17:32.82). Senior Dana Morrell finished sixth (2:08.45) and junior Amber Mullins finished eighth in the 200 backstroke (2:09.67) to go with her seventh place in the 1,650 freestyle. Freshman Sarah Lenz placed eighth in in the 100 backstroke (1:01.44). Amy Legner finished eighth in the 100 breastroke (1:08.36) and Brigitta Olson finished eighth in the 100 butterfly (59.58). The women's 400 and 800 freestyle relay teams both finished fifth with times of 3:37.31 and 7:51.74.
The team will take some time off before returning to competition in a nonconference dual meet against Big 12 foe Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, Saturday December 7.
