Memphis, Tenn. - Southern Illinois University Carbondale's women's tennis team returns home after winning two out of three matches this past weekend in Memphis, Tenn.
SIU opened up the weekend with a 4-3 victory over East Tennessee State University. Individual winners for SIU were Alejandra Blanco in No. 3 singles, Tana Trapani in No. 4 singles, and Sarah Krismanits in the No. 6 singles slot. The Salukis also took two out of three doubles matches with Blanco/Trapani (No. 2) and Krismanits/Keri Crandall (No. 3) combining to score the point.
Returning to action on Saturday, Mar. 24, SIU fell to Memphis University, 4-3, as the Dawgs could muster just two singles wins after taking the doubles point. The singles winners were Trapani in No. 4 and Krismanits in No. 6 while the pair of Erika Ochoa/Ana Serrot (No. 1) and Blanco/Trapani (No. 2) won in doubles.
The Salukis then rounded out the weekend with a 4-3 victory over Arkansas Little Rock Saturday afternoon. Winning for the Salukis were Serrot in No. 2 singles, Trapani in No. 4 singles, and Rachel Moroles in No. 5 singles. All three of SIU's doubles teams also won.
