
Polina Dozortseva wins ITA sportsmanship award

Southern Illinois senior women's tennis player Polina Dozortseva was recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association this week as a Division I regional award winner. The Moscow native won the ITA/Cissie Leary Award for Sportsmanship. She was one of 12 regional award winners. The national award winners will be announced on May 23.
Dozortseva posted a 13-9 singles record last season and 16-7 doubles mark. She was active in community service-fundraiser projects sponsored by Saluki Athletics that included Souper Bowl For Hunger, Trivia Night at the Oscars, SIU Dance Marathon and the Lip Sync Battle.
