Women's Tennis Cancels Match with Saint Louis

Carbondale, Ill. - Along with a host of many other cancellations due to the nation's recent tragedies, the Southern Illinois University women's tennis team announced today that its match with Saint Louis University Sept. 14-16 has been cancelled.

This weekend's match would have marked the season opener for the Salukis who finished the 2000-01 campaign with a record of 13-9, 9-4 in the MVC. Instead, SIU will wait until September 28-30 to make its season debut when the Dawgs travel to Evansville, Ind., to take on the University of Evansville. As for this weekend's originally scheduled match with the Billikens, there has been no decision yet as to if or when it will be rescheduled.
